“By Saturday evening, I felt wired.  It was so inspiring and thought provoking.  I found myself awake during the nights mulling over the various sessions, making plans to change my life!  Yikes!” 

“So many sessions were emotional for me and certainly for others– they resonated.  I especially like the idea of themes.  That was brilliant.   Growing up Female and Growing up Male were extremely powerful never mind the closing session which was over the top.” 

“I enjoyed meeting the authors, they seemed so open to meeting with the audience.  The Hall was intimate; dining with them a privilege, enjoying conversations with them a definite highlight.” 

“There was a festive air about the village with people milling about and taking in what Denman has to offer.  It was a great chance to meet others who are interested in reading and writing. …. I thought it was wonderful and will take part again next year.”

With the warmth of those words resonating in our ears we bring an end the 2008 Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival.  Before we do so the Festival would like to extend a bouquet of thanks to all of this year’s participants, whether reader or writer they be.  The success of this festival is derived in large part from the quality of interchanges between writers and readers where ideas spring forth, illuminating and inspiring, challenging preconceived notions and guiding us new understandings.   As such without the contributions of our splendid participants the wonderful words posted above would not have been possible.  We thank you all.
